Citadel upgraded our alarm system adding a garage door sensor, wireless smoke detectors and WIFI access for the smart phone application. The sale and installation teams were very professional, installation was very clean, and the installer provided a thorough walkthrough of the application features. We highly recommend Citadel!

Requested a quote to upgrade alarm system. Received a proposal and had some questions on a few things before moving forward. Called the office and left a message with a live person to get a call back. Didn't happen. Emailed and called again over the course of a week. Was promised a call today but none forthcoming. Going with another company as wouldn't trust them to respond to an actual emergency or alarm tripping given lack of responsiveness during a sales process.

I switched to Citadel from another alarm company last fall and I could not be happier. They are knowledgeable, professional, honest, reasonable, and the service is above and beyond what I expected. The other night I had a prowler peering into one of my windows. It was extremely creepy and disturbing to say the least. I called 911 first and then hit the panic button on the alarm.
The Citadel operator called me right away & I explained the situation. Since the police had already been notified they did not need to call them but the Citadel operator stayed on the line with me until they arrived. It was extremely reassuring to hear a calm voice during a very stressful situation. The office staff has always been friendly and helpful in all my dealings with them as well. My experience was Citadel security systems has been nothing but positive and I highly recommend them to anyone in the area.

I have been a customer on and off since 2007. I briefly changed service when I was relocated. Since my last work relocation, I contacted Citadel and requested a quote for the new home security. I was glad that he was able to service my current location because I know my home is secure and being monitored by a local dispatch with friendly yet professional staff.
The installation personnel that were sent out performed an excellent and when trouble arose, they stayed and ensured the job was done before leaving the premises. I highly recommend Citadel Security Systems if you want honest workmanship, good security monitoring and installation. Lastly, I would like to add that their prices beat most self installed systems out there (E.g., Viventi, FrontPoint, ADT, etc.)

Choose Citadel as a reference from a neighbor ultimately choose them because: local company, provide the monitoring and service at one location, pricings are competitive. There are always cheaper and more expensive options, do your homework before any purchase. They took over the system from my home builder, did system checks and upgraded with more sensors.
I really liked their tech team, friendly, professional and very knowledgeable. Same goes for the owner, would recommend. Why 4 stars? Will revisit after my first "emergency" to judge their response. So far, so good.

I chose Citadel initially due to price and that they didn't require a long term contract like some of the national alarm companies. The installation went perfectly and the system blends in with the house. I don't know if it's because they do their own monitoring or that they're local or their technology but whenever our system would go off (usually due to our own fault) we would receive a call from Citadel within seconds.
When I need to call in for a question or service call, they're always friendly and prompt. I have moved a couple times since the first system I purchased and I have called them to install systems immediately in my new home. They give me peace of mind.

We've had Citadel for 2 1/2 years. While they are undoubtedly the cheapest, I sometimes wonder if the savings was worth it. Several times we've accidentally trigger the alarm in the morning, forgetting to disarm it and nothing would happen when a door or window was opened. Shouldn't the alarm have gone off? I have to say that they were quick to call when the alarm did go off.
That was never an issue. I felt like the system was not always working properly. The funniest thing is when I moved in I wanted updated keypads and I had to beg the owner for them, he was so resistant to install them, and they were more expensive. Im in sales and when someone whats a more expensive product you sell it to them! I later found out that he did not like them because there was no where to put the companies name on it. Really?
A few times we discovered that the alarm was communicating with their system and they were not receiving a signal from our system. When I contacted Citadel I asked why they didn't pick up on this during their "Weekly Testing", I never received a straight answer or was told it happened right after they had performed the test for that week and it would have shown up the next week. Yeah right. Just remember, you get what you pay for.

We switched to Citadel several months ago after using ADT for years. We were happy with ADTs service but were unhappy with the cost. In the past when we accidentally triggered the alarm ADT would call immediately to confirm our safety. Often the phone would ring before I finished resetting the alarm, a process that takes no more than 15 seconds. Last night I inadvertently set off the door alarm at 2am.
It took a full 10 minutes for Citadel to call and see if everything was okay. This is the first time our alarm went off with Citadel, so it's possible this is not a common occurrence. Unfortunately however, had this been a true incident it would have been 10 minutes before police were notified. Regardless of the cause that is an unacceptable callback time. Back to ADT for us.
