Why should I be concerned about my homes security? More than six million residential burglaries occur every year in this country. Nearly half of these burglaries are committed without force - that is, through unlocked doors and windows. Exterior doors should have "dead bolt" locks with a one inch strong metal bar extending into the door frame.
Most locks fit into a standard American style tubular door prep. If you are replacing existing locks then your door preps will most likely be correct for most locks. Just determine the backset and you're ready to order. If you're installing locks in new doors that do not have a door prep you can follow the instructions below.

It was like 6:00 in the morning and this was the 1st company that I called. My neighbor locked her keys, wallet and her car in her car while it was running! She knocked on my door and I called this company and the guy told me that he needs payment up front first before he would unlock my neighbor's car door! Her wallet was in the locked car and she would be able to pay him right after he unlocked it but he refused. Now you know - if you don't have payment literally in your hands they won't unlock your car. So we called someone else and he was great!
