Go to your keypad and arm your system in AWAY mode with your four-digit access code, as if you are leaving the house. Open your main exit/entry door and leave it open past the delay time (approximately 60 seconds).

Company seems legit at first until it's time to cancel. As other reviewers have explained, they will continue to charge you even after you jump through their hoops to formally cancel the service in writing. In my case my contract had expired and I received a letter from them stating I didn't need to do anything if I did *not* wish to continue my service with them.
So I did nothing. 3 months later I was autobilled for the next quarter billing. I called to explain I did not wish to continue service and referenced the letter they denied having sent. They informed me that per my contract (expired) I could not cancel without written notification. I explained how the terms of an expired contract cannot be applied to continue to bill me for service I had not approved past my contract date.
I read the contract with the office manager on the phone. Contract clearly references services under the agreement of the contract. Nevertheless, I emailed as directed with all the details requested in writing to cancel my account. Email was sent immediately following my conversations and email correspondence with the office manager. 3 months later I receive yet another billing.
In spite of email record to coincide with verbal communications 3 months prior, the office manager claims she had not received written request from me to cancel the account. Hard to believe she didn't see my email on that day given the intensive nature of our communications 3 months ago. I have no doubt she actively ignored my request to cancel because of her displeasure with our interaction and my vocal complaint of her company actions towards what had been a loyal customer prior to this occasion.

Horrible patrol experience. This company does not bother to properly train their employees. Instead, they send their patrols out to harass anyone who doesn't fit the company's profile/standards of who should live in Bel Air. Please don't use this company. There are way more affordable companies like ADT for patrol or Simplisafe for just alarms systems.
Don't give your money to a company like this who doesn't invest in the proper training of their security guards. You may be targeted even if you are two minutes from your own home like my family was.

I recently upgraded the security system in my home by adding Patrol. Being a very detailed oriented person I did extensive research and chose ACS. The services offered and services given exceeded other companies. The process of adding this service was seamless with great customer service and patience (again, detail oriented person here asking many, many questions).
At a time when customer service seems to be a challenge for most companies, ACS has created a great customer experience. They have exceeded my expectations.it's not often one can say that.

DONT USE ACS! Ever since ACS took over from ADT it has been a complete nightmare! slow almost non-existent response times, rude security personnel, and overall just a horrible company. we have switched to a different security company and would recommend you do the same. not only are the rates starting to climb through the roof, if you ever need them for whatever reason, they will do nothing when they get there. they might ask a few generic questions but thats about all that will happen. you will be much better off just contacting LAPD right out of the gate. for the love of god do not use ACS

This company is run on a shoestring, mostly in collecting money! I had them for about 5 years, did not use for the last 15 months because of a blinking light on panel following a Hurricane. Gave them 5 months notice to terminate as I was MOVING to a Retirement Community. They claimed I did not give sufficient notice to cancel and I had to pay $122 cancel fee.
I explained that I could not pay that and the house had been sold. After 5 months of back and forth, Joan, the Manager said they would get a collection agency! Well they did and now for $122 I'm dealing with a collection agency, at my young 75 years old. Stay away from this company. I never used the alarm so don't know if they'd properly respond or not. For this reason I would never recommend.

Think before you made a contract, as a customer of ACS for more than a year, I was so impressed with their customer service, they have received cancellation request and told me it's in the process and going to take more than 30monts, 30 Months, which is doesn't make any sense. So active and kind when they tried to make contract, but when it comes to cancellation, I thought I was in the DMV. Please people, think twice before you chose this company,

I never needed ACS help with my system over 18 years. I was unable to set my alarm a couple of weeks ago and called them for instructions. They said that I needed to have the system "reset" and that it required a secret code. They would send someone out with the code for $76. I am no longer a customer of ACS.

Tis is not a company I could recommend under any circumstances. They came out to repair my local alarm system and the repair man asked if I would like to be monitored by them. I told him I would try it for a while and he said I had to do it for a minimum of 3 months, which I did. Three months later I noticed they had deducted another 3 months from my account.
After speaking with them I was told the paperwork I had signed was for a 3 year contract. After talking with them they told me tough, I should have known they were crooks and read all the paperwork I signed.

This company is a total scam. I would give them negative stars if I could. They come to your door repeatedly to solicit business while promising you the world and then once you sign up, they completely drop the ball. My ACS alarm installer botched my installation, not to mention, he never put my current alarm system in test mode when he was installing the new one.
The police came and I was sent a bill from the city for almost $400 for a false alarm. After a TERRIBLE experience, I cancelled my service before it even began. They have still not refunded me the $700+ they owe me for the false alarm and service that I never activated. DO NOT USE ACS!
