I was out of town when my battery backup evidently went dead so my wife called the company to service the alarm. It needed a $40.00 battery for which they charged $40 plus a $125.00 service fee. They were lucky I was out of town. Then they had the nerve to stick one of their advertising signs in my garden without asking permission. They can keep the sign in my yard when they are willing to pay me $125.00 for advertising fees. In the meantime, I'll be shopping for a new alarm monitoring company. Way to treat a 20 year customer.

Everyone has been so helpful. Having a technician (Jaime) come out to our home during COVID was scary but he made us feel at ease with following protocols for safety. He was quick, efficient and very professional. Shout out to customer service as well for always handling our issues quickly. Scheduling is always easy with Boyd. Alarm response is comforting. I prefer Boyd over the other companies out there.

Jaime and Victor just completed the installation of an outdoor security camera system at my home. They did a fantastic job from start to finish, listening to the customer, working as a team and went above and beyond including installing wiring conduit with a j-box then painting it to match the house and ensuring everything dialed in perfectly on the monitor and my phone. HIGHLY RECOMMEND BOYD & ASSOC SECURITY for your home security system!

Very unhappy with this company. I had two false alarms which led to police being dispatched. I was unable to reach their Monitoring station to turn off the dispatch. I was placed on hold by their rotary answering machine. And not able to reach them in time. B&A's front office is pretty unprofessional. The technicians they have sent to my home have been courteous.

Watch out for this company and their billing practices. They bought out Bay Alarm in Costa Mesa which had been great. Check your contract billing details carefully to verify their requirements for advance notice before they annually renew your service. If you miss by a day they will bill you for 12 months and threaten small claims to collect in full. Fortunately my contract was an old one that allowed easier terms.
Be warned and find someone else their service was no better than others; basic telephone followup. During construction they have no real process to cancel account, only short term hold. Then discussing extending alarm to new area they claim impossible without buying a whole new system not reinstalling the original alarm.

Had an older system fully upgraded by Boyd today. Ray and Victor were both knowledgeable, easy going but very thorough in all they did. Updated system and hardware, tuned up and upgraded to full function and state of the art. Could not be happier with the service. so far. Ray even came back to make sure that all was functioning and that we were up to speed with pads as well as remote accessibility. Yes, definitely 5 Stars today!

Go with ADT I tried cancelling Boyd because we were going to be under construction for a few months and didn't need their security. They pushed really hard to put the account on hold instead so I complied. When we were going back online we got a quote from them for new equipment because our old one they took done went missing. they said they left it at our front desk and my staff must have misplaced the items. a huge box with a bull horn attached to it (that should have been the first clue, b/c I believe the y took it and disposed of it).
Well the quote was really high and ADT was much more reasonable. Fast forward 6 months we get a bill for the first quarter of the month because they reactivated our account without notifying us after the hold was over. We don't even have their equipment hooked up we call to explain this and are hit with a cancellation fee and still on hook for 1st quarter payment. F***ing clown shoes. Never will use them again and will urge anyone I know to know use them either!

I have never written a review, I hope it's clear and you use different company. Boyd bought Silver Security along with our 5 location account. We had a window shattered on Labor day 2019 while we were closed in the middle of the day. The police drove by, saw it, and went into the property setting off the alarm. Boyd security called that location and spoke to the police but never notified anyone at our company that there was a break in.
So they have been collecting money from us and providing NO SERVICES since they bought the business. When I called and asked what numbers they had, I was given two numbers that they should of called but they never did. I was then passed on to the manager, Eric who felt badly but could offer us nothing. He also said that they didn't have the numbers just confirmed by their secretary that they had.
So I asked for the owner, Mr. Boyd to call me back, he didn't. I then call Boyd again and my call was intercepted by Eric who said they could offer me a good will gesture of $90. Then I was told that since nothing was stolen, I have not lost anything. Tod G. 818-753-8747

With all of the choices out there for home security I would never even consider Boyd & Associates. They bought out Draganchuk security a few years back and all they did was increase prices and dish out crappy service. Draganchuk was a good company. Boyd & Associates ruined it. Also beware of hidden gotchas in the small print of their contracts when you decide to cancel.
In my case I called to cancel. They said they need it in writing. A call should be fine but I sent a letter of cancellation. Thinking it is cancelled a year later I get another bill. I call and of course they say they never received the letter. They ask me to send another one and begrudgingly I do. Then they say my second letter came in too late and they want to charge me for yet another year. It is just a bunch of unnecessary crap from a greedy company with shady tactics. They should be ashamed, but you know they are not.

I inherited Boyd when Silver Security (the best) closed and sold their customers to this inept company. Each time we call there is a major confusion and one department doesn't seem to talk to the other. It has been a year and in spite of our simple requests (ie: bring us new signs) nothing has been done. My contract ends next month and can't wait to let them go.

Called and asked for a service on my security system. They took over for Silver Security. The receptionist told me that I was "not a customer". I explained that the other company put my security system in and I wanted a service call to get things working. She told me that since I wasn't a customer they wouldn't service my system. I said ok, what does it take to become a "customer".
She said $40 per month in a monitoring contract. I said I just want a service call and not monitoring. She said "what part of what I said do you not understand". I asked if Robert could come out and I would pay for his time. Needless to say that was the end of the call. Very rude and inappropriate. Considering my options!

My batteries were running low and the alarms were going off when I called and asked to have them all replaced. I had immediate confirmation of an appointment for the following week, and today John arrived and did a thorough inspection, changed the batteries and was on his way in a short time. We were previous customers and my husband asked Boyd to come out and survey a new addition we had built so we could update the sensors. Well, after cajoling my husband into purchasing a $1,000 upgraded system, Boyd couldn't keep up their end of the bargain. The installation took longer than advised, showed that the salesperson, who met with my husband 3 times, miscounted the number of sensors, and after over 7 hours, left us with a non-functional alarm for over a week; despite the assurance of the installer that it would still work.
I have had to make numerous phone calls to make everything right. Unorganized, incompetent and disrespectful of my time. We never had ANY ISSUES before Boyd bought Draganchuk. I wish we'd know the nightmare into which we were headed; we would have explored our options.

Horrible. We have had Boyd for year's and their service has gone down hill. Over the last year it has become harder and harder to receive answers when calling to ask questions. They always say someone will call back, nobody ever does. Today is the last straw, our alarm went off and an automated voice called us, left a message with a code to call back.
They don't even employ live people any longer to make the call. And why did our alarm go off, because of the sensor we have been trying to get them to repair for the past month.

Boyd's chief service technician, Mike Scillig came to my house last week and upgraded my 22 year old Boyd alarm system. Mike came early to check out the job details so it would go smoothly, and his assistant got there on time and they both were very professional in the installation of my new system. They checked it, programmed it, and it works flawlessly. I was very happy with the service call.

Maybe this lame ass company should talk to Sam's Club before they run around putting stupid fake tickets on vehicles w/travel trailers. I called Sam's club in Oxnard before arrival to ask if we could park in their lot overnight. The manager was very kind and assured me that as long as I was in their side of the lot, where it clearly states their name & signs for 24 hr. parking.
We arrived about 20 minutes before Sam's closed and checked in again. The manager pointed us to the spots on the other side of the large recycling center. When I woke to find this "ticket", I was ammused.is

PATHETIC COMPANY! Apparently these jokers purchased Gold Coast Security a few years ago, but don't seem to know what clients they are now supposed to service now. I had a parking issue where I needed a car sited or towed. I called and got some RUDE customer service person, then got hung up on. I called back and the same person answered, tried to act like it wasn't him, and then tried to be MODERATELY helpful.
Or at least give the impression of helping me. At the end of the day (And it is the end of the day) nothing was done, nobody called me back, nobody showed up (even though the rep said he was sending someone), and I'm left here wondering if this is really a company that's supposed to help me feel "SECURE"? This company is LAUGHABLE to say the least.
