LA Jolla Lock & Safe

Great service from Cynthia and we got a new Safe. We love it.

I talked to Rick and explained that I had purchased a new door knob with a lock but that I needed to have it installed as they'd have to cut through the steel safety door. He told me no problem, and we set an appointment. Perfect. A few days later, Colin (I hope I remember your name correctly!) came out to take a look. To my shock, he told me that they only install locks/door knobs that they sell.

It would have been helpful if Rick had informed me of that instead of telling me that it wouldn't be a problem (minus one star). Nevertheless, Colin couldn't have been nicer, more accommodating, or professional. He set up the door perfectly, explained what I would need to do, and even watched me to ensure I set it up correctly. He was just incredible, and my door opens and closes better than it ever has in the last 30 years! Colin gets 10 stars!

Was able to call and speak with someone which had proven to be pretty difficult looking for a locksmith! Also was able to get a general ballpark over the phone which I was appreciative of. Scheduling was pretty easy and Collin the technician was very professional and had the work done quickly and effectively. I would certainly recommend them!

I've used La Jolla Lock and Safe for 30 years and they are consistently excellent at rekeying and fixing locks. Sebastian recently rekeyed my house with efficiency, courtesy and respectfully wore a mask. I highly recommend La Jolla Lock and Safe!

I had a wonderful experience with the guys at La Jolla Lock and Safe. I had a new security system installed at my home, and the guys were extremely friendly and polite, and oh so helpful. I had a slight issue after the system was installed, Nathan zipped over to check it out within a matter of minutes. They gave me a great tutorial on how the system works and were very patient with me. If you are looking for a reliable service, these are your guys!

Super cute little key store! Walked in to make a copy of a house key and it took maybe 5 minutes or less!

Always reliable and do great work! Nathan and others we have worked with here are prompt, courteous and have gone out of their way to accommodate different situations.

Everyone was professional and the service was fast. They couldn't beat the Amazon prices for the locks I bought so I got the locks online but they were happy to rekey all 5 of them. Only took an hour or two. Everyone was very nice and pleasant. Going to give them the opportunity to do a larger scale job for me now if they can remain competitive on pricing.

Rick, at La Jolla and Lock, helped my out about 3 years ago with a tricky problem. I had a padlocked gate on the side of my house for security reasons. Because our gardener was on a variable schedule, we did not know exactly what day of the week he'd arrive. We'd have to remember to remove the padlock several days a week. After talking with Rick at La Jolla Lock and Safe, he installed a keypad on my gate; allowing us to give the gardener, or any other service individual, their own code to access our backyard.

The installation of this keypad was a real lifesaver for everyone in the family. Rick came out and installed it in about an hour and did a fantastic job! On another occasion I had a key stuck in my deadbolt and Rick came out quickly to help me out. Rick is very patient and knowledgeable.

This shop is fantastic. Talk about old school customer service. I had two unusual, impossible to find keys I needed cut and they were great about taking their time to make sure they were done right. Sound simple and it is but other shops I've been to can't perform like this one.

They made copies of my "Do not duplicate" keys since my building gets them made there. Very convenient for when guests visit. I had to wait 30 mins since the locksmith was at lunch, but that gave me time to walk around the block, do some window shopping and have a disappointing snack at Girard Gourmet. When I came back to get the keys, I was a bit surprised by the price. Usually dupe keys are $1/each. Here they are ~ $3.50/each. La Jolla prices. I guess I'm paying for exclusivity?

Was referred to these poeple by my lock manufacturer, Baldwin Company. They informed me that this cvompany attends the training the provide. I called for an appointment and during the hiloday season got one within a week. The called 30 minutes before they arrived like they said they would. The gentleman that came was professional, courteous, polite and trained!

He diagnosed my problem and had it complete in 45 minutes from time of arrival. Needless to say I also called the Baldwin Company and informed them of the great service I received. They are definately number one in my book now!

Don't usually feel the need to give reviews about places such as a locksmith, but.i do admire and EXPLOIT excellent service so here goes. These guys know what they're doing. They are fast and efficient, cheap and very very friendly. And if you have the get keys made anyways, why wouldn't you wanna come down to La Jolla to do it? :

I dropped by recently to get a couple keys made after Meanley & Sons (Ace) didn't have the blanks and recommended these guys. I walked in, was asked what I needed help with right away - I handed him my key, mentioned the key blank number (I had been looking for a place to get this key done for a little while now) and within two minutes I had two high-quality copies in my hand.

A minute later and I was paid and out the door. A little over THREE minutes for two keys - I just don't think you can get any faster than that and have a key actually be cut - let alone two! These guys do *so much* more than cut keys as was evidenced by all the security gadgets/safes/etc they had around the store. If you need something key (or safe) related - make these guys your first call, they are great! Edit: With a review like this, of course both keys worked perfectly.
