Unfortunately had to change my review of this company. We had no problem with the actual service, but their business practices are completely unethical. We recently sold our house and I emailed to cancel our service; we then received a bill in the mail for $1000. I contacted the company to ask about the charge and was informed that we owed for the remaining 3 years of the 5 year contract.

They send a copy of the initial contract and sure enough buried in the tiny print was a clause that the contract can only be cancelled with 30 days notice by certified US mail. I would understand if there was an extra month's charge to account for the 30 days notification requirement, but they weren't budging. Steer clear of this company.

I'm not one to write bad reviews. As a matter of principle, it seems people are quick to complain, but not as likely to compliment. I actually wrote these guys a stellar review 3 years ago. Today I found out that we were duped. We really thought that we had chosen a reputable company when we had Southern Burglar come out to swap our existing setup to theirs using most of our own system. Turns out there was a 5 year contract buried in the fine print on the paperwork.

We would have never agreed to a long term contract. That agreement was most likely signed while we were working between customers, a perfect time to take advantage of a business owner. The only thing lower than dirty businessmen are those who appear to be honest while pulling the rug from under you. Would definitely not recommend their service. This is what is referred to as "bottom feeders".

If u ever cancel service even after 10 years, they will come rip out the equipment that you have been "renting" and leave all the holes in the walls and ceilings from when they first installed it. They did this to my mother in Anderson. Scum of the earth. Beware.

Not a company that wants to deal with people or go above and beyond. They want your money, no matter what. They don't care how many years or accounts you have with them. I went with them because I felt like they were real people, instead I got a big company that wants your nickels and dimes.
