So you take my review down but leave up the ridiculous review of the hot chick who has Never Been A Customer of Instant Alarm but who writes a favorable review based solely on the fact that one of their technicians tried to pick her up in the parking lot of a Home Depot. Really?! How about trying this on for size? I Had Been (But No Longer Am) An Actual Customer of Instant Alarm For Over 20 Years And I Can Tell Potential Customers Facts That They Actually Might Want To Know!
For instance: Instant Alarm goes out of their way to price gauge their customers: They charge $294 in semi-annual monitoring fees versus $90 in semi-annual monitoring fees charged by other home security companies. Instant Alarm also charges $180 in installation or repair fees to fix any problem with your system that's based on a set fee of labor at $90 per hour for a minimum of 2 hours even if, in fact, the repair takes only 20 minutes.
Other home security companies charge a flat fee of $79 - no matter how long the repair or installation takes! When I had repeated problems with my newly installed home security camera system I was told by the technician who came out for the 3rd time to fix it that there would be "no charge" for that visit. A month later I got a bill for $180. When I called up the Accounts Payable Department to complain I was told that the technician was "not authorized" to make that visit a "no charge" one but that, since the repair visit, in fact, only took 20 minutes I would be given a "break" and charged only $90.
A month after paying that $90 I received another bill for $90 - this time being told that the person in Accounts Payable was also "not authorized" to make any reduction in the bill. Again: how is a customer supposed to know if an employee or representative of a company is "authorized" to reduce or eliminate a bill?! The word of a company and its employees and representatives is supposed to mean something and in the case of Instant Alarm Company of Salem, MA it means Absolutely NOTHING! Moreover, a company which had any semblance of intelligent business practices would surely have the smarts to let $90 go for a customer who had been loyal to it for over 20 years but apparently Not This Company!
So Potential Instant Alarm Customers these are all facts I think you should know before going with this company. Now you are free to make an informed judgment based upon the experience I and, no doubt, Many Other Instant Alarm Customers have had.

This has to be the worst "Alarm" company I have ever had to deal with. please Don't go with them. These days there are so many different and way better options. I was with this company for years but they just did not keep up with technology and their costumer service has gone down hill. For the new year I decided to finally change to another company. I would encourage people to do the same you will save money and get you may actually get treated better.

Unreal, we have been dealing with Instant Alarm for about five years now. Our systems were pre-existing when we changed to them. They have been doing our central station monitoring. Now we need them to add a couple of strobe signals and they want to hold us against the wall and have their way with us. Their manager started yelling at me over the phone. Told me I was breaking the law.
That I don't know what I'm talking about. That I had to follow what they say. I already spoke with the fire prevention folks and they don't agree with these people. I just can't believe the way they are treating us. I fired them in the spot. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ALL. They didn't even let me have my say, cut me off and started yelling. Strongly suggest that you shop around and find someone else to provide your alarm and monitoring needs.

This is not a review of their services as I have never used this company, but for one of their representatives. I was caught in a torrential downpour today when shopping at Home Depot today. I was trying to get my purchases in my trunk as fast as I could. I was struggling with a huge bag of garden soil because it was heavy and my hands were slippery from the rain.
One of this company's trucks was cruising by in the parking lot and the driver came out to ask if I needed assistance. That was so sweet of him and it was a good reminder that chivalry is not dead! P.S. Girl power because I politely declined his help and got the stuff in my trunk all by my lonesome yay!

So the installation was a NIGHTMARE. The guy was super rude and condescending. The sales person didn't go over everything so this hindered installation forcing us to take an additional day off of work (and told a bunch of lies!). I had posted a negative review then but they BEGGED me to take it down and gave me free stuff to do so. Makes me wonder if that is why there is only 1 review and it's positive.
Three months later, the alarm goes off and nothing.no phone call no police NOTHING. Are they really monitoring my house? I will be testing them to see if the actually call but so far, we accidentally set the alarm off 3 times in the past 2 weeks and NEVER get a call. I KNEW I should have gone with Wayne Alarm. They are polite and always on the ball but I was in a rush and my house came with Instant Alarm equipment already installed.

Instant Alarm is a top notch alarm company and I'm so thankful we have them. They always call when my alarm goes off and everyone that works there is so pleasant! I once had a vacation down the Cape and one of my friends was watching the house. She accidentally set off the alarm and although she had the right password to give the Instant Alarm employee when they called and all was well, they still called my cell phone to confirm everything! Im going to be upgrading my system soon and I'll be sure to stick with Instant Alarm! They're the best around!
