We have been using TMC for many years now due to their reasonable monthly fee, HOWEVER, we now need to re-consider if these savings are worth our safety and security. Our alarm is connected via our internet connection and Bell has been down many times these last few months. On each of these occasions it took at least 2-3 hours before TMC reached out to see if everything was OK.

If these had been real emergencies I'm not sure how that would have helped - really TMC you call that "real time alarm monitoring"? In addition I have had to call them several times over the last year and I have yet to connect with a live person before a "significant" wait time - again really TMC - what if any of those calls were an emergency? This only goes to show you get what you pay for - at $9.99 a month they can't afford to staff the organization to properly serve their customer base I guess?

We are in the process of switching our monitoring to someone who truly monitors alarms and not just collects money because they claim to monitor! I highly recommend you consider what your safety and well being is really worth before giving them your business but more importantly your trust.

I've dealt with several alarm service providers but none compare to my experience with The Monitoring Center. Customer service was superb! From my first point of contact with Mirella, who was responsive, patient and extremely pleasant to deal with, to Gideon, the technician who was professional, polite, efficient and meticulous with service delivery. Thank you! I will be recommending The Monitor Center to family and friends!

I continue to receive calls from this company multiple times a day because someone put me on their list without my permission. And their customer is not answering, so I'm now the target of the phone calls. A rep and I spoke this afternoon and I found her to be extremely unprofessional and crass. I requested to be removed from the calling list because the calls interrupt my work day.

Her response was to tell me to block their number and immediately hang up. I'm not a customer so this review is strictly to address the horrible customer service I received. The reps suggestion to block the number was fine but being hung up on was not! My call was not to be told to block the number, I did that already. It's the persistence in frequency of calls with voicemails; so I'd like to stop being called, period.

I was also trying to help them out to contact the accurate person. In my opinion, if this is the treatment they give to callers, I wouldn't trust them with my safety. Even though I just purchased a home and am in the market for security, I wouldn't do business with them if they paid me. Who knows, maybe they'd hang up on me in a real emergency.

Monitoring good - Service not so good. Time line for a service call is over 3 weeks and then can be cancelled at the last minute and put back another 3 weeks. Recommended for monitoring but have someone else do your service.

Just upgraded my system to wireless, received a quick install date. Gilbert, the installer, was excellent, professional, helpful, instructed me on use of application, and just a great personality. Gilbert was by far the best person I ever encountered as a service person

Recently moved to Rogers Ignite but the phone system was not hooked up properly and caused the alarm to stop communicating. Brian from TMC's technical support team walked me through how to switch 2 pairs of lines on the box in order to get everything working again. It was so easy and he was incredibly knowledgeable. Been with this company for many years and highly recommend.

Very bad experience with the installer. He was distracted, on the phone with other people all the time, and mostly ignored us. He went to our bathroom and stayed in there for a long time (taking a dump?) while on the phone screaming at someone. We had to knock on the bathroom door several times to ask if something was wrong. This was a very weird experience. We were relieved when he was gone.

Outstanding job by Keith today who was sent to upgrade our alarm system. We have an older home and he took care of everything, was great at explaining the upgrade and now to use the system, and most of all just a really kind guy. TMC you are lucky to have an employee like that! Great work!

The installer was late. he left a message on my phone. Unfortunately, I didn't get until after he left. He was very professional and i an happy getting great service and saving on average $15 a month. I like that there are options that can be added later.

Service mgr David will not help on phone for tech support. Looks like not enough staff. After 10 yrs being loyal customer for 2 subway locations in Mississauga it has been bad experience when really needed help for door sensor quick programming on phone. I hope someone looks into this. Taking my business to better provider soon.

Good quality service. Customer pays for their own machines and pay only 9.99 for the monitoring service. I think this is much better deal than the free machine and 35.99 service.

They have ZERO respect for their clients. They called me twice last night at 4am (made sure I woke up) to tell me their equipment screen went out for a second time in a couple weeks. They also called and woke up other people on my emergency phone list in the middle of last night. How about you sell better equipment AND call people are a reasonable hour like EVERY OTHER COMPANY. You guys have done this to me soo many times I am now writing a review. Grrrr

I cant even believe anyone would give less then 5 stars to The Monitoring Center. If you are that person you are a miserable, unhappy human! This company is the BEST! We have hem at all our business locations and home. They have never let us down. They even go out of their way to help clients/ If a clients calls them. they actually get on the phone and call you to let you know that there is a client trying to get a hold of you! Now, I'm not saying that's going to happen on a regular basis. So you have to be available for your own clients! You will not regret going with them. Unprofessional and very disappointing. David at technical support stated that he only answers to president of the company and no other supervisors exist, and he doesn't seem to understand that when you charge for the service, you actually responsible for that service. Takes forever to get service appointment (and that's before lockdown).

The tech they sent was professional and explained that the issue was with alarm net on their side. David (the second to president in command) thinks that they charge for alarm net but don't have to provide the service for which they charge. His words were "when truck rolls you pay" so when your alarm stops working because of the problem at alarm net or the monitoring station you will be charged for them to repair the problem they have at their end not in your system. Will be cancelling all accounts with TMC.

I just made the switch and I had been paying $436 per year and even after paying TMC's one time setup fee of $99 and the addtl. year of service for a total of $218, I received 18 months of monitoring which would have cost me $648 with my previous provider! Now keep in mind I had only basic monitoring before and that's what I have now, no cellular service line just no frills basic monitoring.should had made the switch long ago!

The system has been great for the 1 year I've had it so far and the only false alarms have been by accident, by opening a door before turning off the alarm. The response time from the call center is super fast. Have yet to experience an alarm go off when I wasn't home. The Monitoring Center is friendly and will help set up and adjust the system over the phone.

Sales guy provided all the information upfront regarding equipment ownership (you own your own equipment), term of contract and payment schedule. Monthly cost is significantly cheaper than other providers and they were able to work with the existing monitoring equipment in my home. Tech came on time, and was fast and courteous. Overall the installation experience was good and I hope future experience will be great as well.

I have been overpaying for my alarm monitoring for a while and when time came for a renewal I decided to give the monitoring center a try. The tech showed up on time during the day of the install and was polite and efficient in switching my GSM system over. Overall a very pleasant experience and wish I did it sooner.

Don't waist your time. Made an appointment was told they would be there between 2 to 4, shows up at 4:45 and waists more time. I had two new doors installed i watched the doors being installed. they left the wires for new contacts. The guy said one door wire was not good, suggested wireless i said ok. Then he went to the other and wanted to drill a hole in a new $5000.00 at the top, I said no.

All he need to say in the beginning was do wireless and not waist time. He gets paid by the hour. Looking to charge more $$$. He's here 1 hr already and nothing has been done. This company does not hire competant people. There out of Canada, if i didn't pay for the monitoring as part of my Association i would dump them in a heat beat. it's colose to 6 pm and he's on one door!

Never, never, never. If the alarm goes on, they will never call you back. It happened twice after false alarm. They said they did not recieve signal.they blame the phone company. I have had security for 21 years. Never had problem before. You pay for nothing. Worst alarm company. No, ,N o, No.

Buyer beware. If it looks too good to be true, it usually is. The Monitoring Center installed my alarm under the $9.99 deal and then had me sign their "standard" illegible fine print contract. Later on, I found that this allowed them to increase my monthly fees over 50% and continuing to charge my credit card for 9 months of service after I terminated the contract! I would NOT recommend this company with extremely questionable business practices.

I emailed TMC for an alarm system. Mirella H was my sales person. She made everything so easy and really professional. We emailed back and forth a couple times (myself asking questions) she emailed me back everytime within the hour or less. She did her best to work around my busy schedule and accommodated me. The installer (Can't remember his name) was very knowledgeable and very considerate and clean. So happy to have used TMC. Too bad other companies could not learn from TMC. Minus 1 star only because it took a month to get a tech to come out and set my system up. I had an existing system. We did not know the code and neither did the previous owners. The tech had no problem resetting the system and adding in the cellular monitoring. Very quick and easy. So far no issues. Expensive up front because you pay for a whole year, but the discount on home insurance almost pays for the monitoring. Anytime I had to call to set up my monitoring and setup, I was on hold for no longer than a few minutes. Probably best to try and call at off peak times as I did.
