Virtual Service, headquartered in New York, NY, is a division of Future Communications Corporation, a leading provider of videoconferencing systems, peripherals, installations and custom integration. Virtual Service is the leader in interactive video monitoring systems and alarm services and the development and design of advanced video security systems.
Virtual Doorman is the widely-accepted rapidly-growing, technologically advanced alternative to a live doorman. Virtual Doorman performs nearly every important duty of a traditional doorman service, and it is 90% more cost-efficient. In New York and Manhattan where property management expenses are already high, Virtual Doorman allows you to reduce your operating costs, without sacrificing the service and security that your tenants want.
Our access control solutions will help control who can enter or exit your building, where they are allowed to exit or enter, and when they are allowed to enter or exit. When access is granted, the door is unlocked for a predetermined time and the transaction is recorded. When access is refused, the door remains locked and the attempted access is recorded. Our access control solutions protect your information, employees, customers and residents by regulating the movement of people within a building.
Our managed access control system connects your site to our office, where our trained staff is able to remotely create new cards, make changes to existing cards, and monitor the status of your system. There is no need to train your employees on the card access system or worry about maintaining a server to manage the card database.

We use Virtual Service at two of the properties we manage. They have been incredibly fast when we've had any type of security issue providing video/photo evidence upon request. The residents have also been very satisfied with their services. I strongly recommend.

I read the other reviews and knowing that two other buildings across the street from ours have competitors' systems that have company names that sound exactly like Virtual Doorman, I'm going to concur with the responses of the Virtual Doorman company that these tenants complaining are mistaking THE Virtual Doorman service with a copycat.

Their two competitors' buildings who have a copycat service one which has the name "Virtual, " in it and the other which has "Doorman, " in it can be easily confused by anyone who isn't aware that "Virtual Doorman, " is a trademarked brand, not a generic name for any company in the industry. I only found that out when my building's board met with their representative.

As one of the building's sponsors, I vetted Virtual Doorman against everything and everyone that sounds like them and know the sponsors of their two competitors' buildings near mine who are miserable with their two competitors. Not saying I'm certain that's what some of these low ratings are for but I'm of the opinion that it's a case of "mistaken identity" from residents who don't know what service their building has because the sponsor chose it before they moved in and they aren't on their respective boards and aren't privy to all of their vendors' names.

My residents, in contrast, who are a very "vocal group, " to say the least make us aware of every little glitch or misstep ANY vendor of theirs makes and to date, we've received zero over the many years our building has had Virtual Doorman service. End of the day people like those ones in the negative reviews I've read here sound like the ones with an axe to grind and take to Yelp to vent and typically exaggerate their claims to make a point - something happened to them and they want the world to know about it. I've had tenants in my buildings that do the same over any sort of dispute with us and take to social media and fabricate stories as well.

If you want to truly vet Virtual Doorman just ask them for references like we did when we vetted them and get feedback from reliable sources who actually use their service. Then make your educated decision.

Must say the most reliable company I have ever worked with. I had a bad situation happen with Con Edison in the condo I manage and Virtual Doorman Service helped me everyday and never too small a job to do. They will keep you informed if there is anything going on in the building. I rely on them 100% and can shout that from Macy's window. Get their services you will never be disappointed. Sandy

Our packages got stolen thanks to the negligence of virtual doorman. Apart from that, It's been 6 months since we moved to our apartment and they've denied entry to mail carriers saying we don't live there. It's been basically a nightmare to deal with them and hopefully we never had to again. We will also avoid working with buildings that have this service.

This service continues to be terrible, their staff is rude and continues to reject FedEx packages even while we are present in the apartment, we would be better off without the service AT ALL. There are many other options available for a similar service at much better prices save your money and your patience and shop around! Also their website appears to have been designed and built in the 90's with plenty of dead links and website insecurities. If you do use this site take care not to share passwords or any other sensitive information!

One of the worst services ever. Employees are rude as heck! My puppy (2 months) needed a dog sitter and the doorman wouldn't let her in because my service ended a day before. I was not notified to upgrade until AFTER they hung up on her several times and rudely spoke to her. She even recorded the interaction. I called their customer service to complain and they did not apologize, rather they justified their behavior. It's a puppy.

What if something had happened to her? These people don't give a damn about others but making extra money. An extra $70/month just to be able to let someone in and getting terrible service? No thanks. Happy my new building is using another service.

Not worth the money. I'm writing from a converted loft building in Tribeca. Seven apartments, so no doorman. We are on a name basis with our UPS drivers, and postal carriers have keys, so no need for a package service for them. The idea was to pay a lot of money so that we wouldn't miss our packages from Fed Ex and other carriers that require a signature for delivery.

The Fed Ex person would ring the Virtual Doorman buzzer next to our door, speak to person at a remote location who would verify the Fed Ex guys identity, and then would open the front door remotely to allow the package to be dropped off in the lobby. In order for this to be successful, the Fed Ex guy, or the delivery person from whatever carrier, has to ring the buzzer and the Virtual Doorman person has to verify who that person is.

This process fails frequently. We still get the annoying stickers from Fed Ex and other carriers telling us that we missed a delivery. We pay over $100/month per apartment for this "service." I'm told real estate brokers love it because it's a real selling point to gullible first-time condo buyers. Don't be taken in.

The complete video monitoring at the toll tax counters by the Virtual Service allows us to keep a complete track of the total number of vehicles passing every day and if any of them are breaking any rules.

Our building has used Virtual Doorman since 2011. We replaced a lazy doorman who replaced a corrupt doorman. Since that time things work much better. Virtual Doorman keeps a closer watch on things remotely than our human doormen ever did from behind a desk. Access to the building is much more controlled since the intercom is manned 24/7. We are a small building so having a doorman was very expensive. This system really works for us.
