Brian Moreira completed our service call. We had 2 locks re-keyed and keys made. He was prompt, courteous and friendly. He also pointed out a problem with one of our doors that we may want to take care of in the future. Highly recommend Eastway Lock & Key! Our company has been doing business with them for years and they always do a great job!

They come to my home to replace a lock on my Storm Door. The Representative said he would come back and put the lock on the door. He never came back, would not return my 3 calls. I was later told that they could not fix the lock. I was promised a refund of my $100. So far, no refund and no return call. I will not do business with this company again. Unfair practice and they treat customers like crap.

Just wanted to give some credit to Tracy who was the technician that responded to my service call to Eastway L&K, he was very prompt and friendly in his response and explained thoroughly what I could expect and costs, ETA, etc. Tracy was also upfront that he was on his way to another call that he had before me and let me know what side of town so I had an idea of about how long I'd be sitting with my kids locked out of my house!
He called back when done with the other call only a few minutes later to say he was on his way. Very professional and courteous; prompt in correspondence and honest. Thank you again!

Last night I called from Freedom Park after discovering I had locked my keys in the car. AJ missed my call but ended up calling back! He was quick, personable, funny and professional. While I found my keys outside of my car in the park, my car door was opened without damage AND I would call for Eastway's service again, in a heart beat. Thank you, AJ for making a miserable situation way more palatable!

I am giving Eastway two stars instead of one because the individual I spoke with on the phone was at least level-headed and calm. That said, my experience was far from helpful. After having my door "serviced" by the company recently, I got home with a car full of perishable groceries to realize the EXACT same issue was occurring again. Anxious to get inside, I called the folks at Eastway and informed them of my previous visit, the "fix", and requested assistance.
Instead of saying they would send someone out right away to help me get into my home, the individual informed me it was after hours and it would be an additional cost to have someone stop by and let me in. I told him I understood and asked if any money would be credited to me during the new "fix" since the previous one had clearly been unsuccessful.
At this he told me flat out no. That they only fix what they "think" is wrong and if it's incorrect that is not their fault. Eastway Lock and Key - expensive guess work since '93!

They were amazing! I've called around to a few places and Eastway Lock & Key were the friendliest, fastest, most professional, and most affordable option. They were truly a lifesaver and came out to my car right away and the mechanic was extremely helpful. I highly recommend them! Services: Auto locksmith, Re-key lock

I went to Home Depot to try to get some keys for a church mailbox made. They told me they weren't able to do it. I went to Eastway Lock & Key and they were able to make them. I had 3 copies made and had no problems using any of them. They do have a setup outside for service due to COVID, and it was convenient and quick. Service: Copy building key

As a native Charlottean myself, I know that Eastway Lock and Key has been doing business in Charlotte for a very long time. Over the years we've all had them arrive to our places of business for this or that and they usually get the job done, but WOW- am I tired of the guys they employ. They don't bother to wear uniforms, name tags, nothing.
They arrive in their own vehicles and when they arrive they're grumpy and don't even introduce themselves- they just walk in and mumble who they're looking for. I get it, it takes a certain mindset to do tedious jobs like this, but it's no longer 1950 guys. could you maybe try to catch up to current business standards by maybe smiling (which is free), and introducing yourself as a base line of reasonable human interaction when you enter a place of business where you anticipate generating income for Eastway Lock and Key?

For starters, customer service can take classes on how and how not to speak to customers. I called your company today at about 8/6/19 at noon, and asked to speak to a manager, the person who answered the phone said she was a manager. I went on to explain that I spoke to Daniel a couple weeks ago and received a quote, and due to my past experience. ( a few years ago) with Eastway Lock and Key, I asked for a quote in writing via text or email bc I was quoted another price over the phone than what I was charged after the work was done. I asked about not receiving a quote in writing bc the reviews on the company have had the same complaints of Eastway lock and key quoting and charging different.

I was referred here to get a quick car key copy. Friendly and quick but when I asked how's much, found the prices outrageously expensive. More double what I have paid in the past and equivalent to over $300 / hr by the amount of time it would take. Can't imagine I'll ever use them for anything given their prices.

Maddening that the hours posted on Yelp and Google list 9-5 hours for this business but on Thursdays, they don't open until 10am. Drove 45 mins to be here at 9am only to find it is closed. Submitted a correction to Yelp. Further compounding the problem, their own website doesn't list any hours at all. There are several people out here waiting with me because they also found 9-5 listed on other sites. Once they did open, we did helped quickly.

A few days ago, I stopped in to get some copies of a key made (mine may be from the early 1900s and only Eastway can make a copy that works) and while I was there, forgot my debit card. Jack Cromer went out of his way to reach me on social media to let me know it was safe and locked up, and I could come by any time to grab. In a world where it seems hard to find honest, quality people (and service) anymore, Eastway leads the charge on both. They will continue to have a lock (pun intended) on my business as long as they're in business! Worth. Every. Penny.

My boyfriend and I came in today to get a key that we had went to get made 3 weeks before. They said it would only take a day, and it ended up taking weeks to get made? We asked for discount due to the time. It was $25 dollars and they gave us $21.45. They were rude and didn't care about the customers needs at ALL. I'll make sure to never return to this locksmith again.

So I really want to give them a 3.5 but Yelp doesn't allow that: I went there to do a pretty basic rekeying of a lock and my only real "issue" was their prices. They are a bit more than other places like Home Depot etc but they do give good customer service and they accept Apple Pay which really surprised me. It looks like they can do any kind of key there so if other places have turned you down check them out.

I have a Cannon Safe that had it's dial lock fail. Instead of just planning a standard service call, one of the staff gave me his personal cell number so I could call him back that evening and personally talk me through how to diagnose the problem. After a good hour or so of his help I was able to baby my safe open, thus saving quite a bit on money and time that would have been spent on him coming out to my house and doing the same.
He had even offered to call Cannon to see about getting a free replacement lock for the final repair, something I had been trying to do but could get no response when I tried their help line. Definitely a big help and a giant relief for both my sanity and wallet. :-

Felt like I received some of the poorest customer service that I have ever experienced. Took off work yesterday to meet the car ignition expert at Eastway Lock yesterday morning. They charged me over $70 to read my lockset and create 3 new keys for me. I got home and the new keys wouldn't work, luckily my old keys still did. Called the store. and they said they would get back to me.
They never did. I woke up this morning to go to work and couldn't get any of the keys to work, so I was stranded at home. Called the store and left a detailed message to let them know the difficulty that I was in. They never called me back. I called again later in the day and suggested that I had a real.

After speaking with two other locksmiths and feeling like we would not be able to get a complicated lock replaced (front door), Daniel and Andrew at Eastway made things incredibly easy. Great follow through, excellent customer service and painless resolution. Great to work with a professional organization!

Very fast to come help when I was locked out of my house. The lock itself took a minute due to some loose screws on the door jam. Very friendly locksmith. He even tightened the screws on the door and frame after he opened the door, which I wasn't expecting him to do. Hopefully I won't need to call them again, but would recommend.

Avoid this business. Called to see if they could come out and re-key storm dorm. The man was incredibly rude and said they wouldn't even consider doing the job because it was too small. He said to get Lowe's to do it and hung up. Lowe's doesn't do re-keying for storm doors. It is astounding that a business could let someone that rude speak to customers on the phone. Now they have lost any future business from us and we are letting friends know to avoid them.

When we moved in to our new house, gave them a call to rekey everything. Prompt and courteous. Got the job done well. Two things I did not like so much: 1. They tried to talk us in to replacing our locks with something more expensive - all I needed was them to rekey for us. 2. Our keys have "Do Not Duplicate" stamped on them - not sure if this is going to be a problem is I ever need to get some extra keys made.

We needed to get our new home re-keyed and Eastway came highly recommended. Our home is a 50 year old Modernist home with mid-century commercial locks. Thankfully, Lawrence was familiar with the uniqueness of the locks' design and very deftly removed, cleaned and re-keyed them. We'd just had the entire interior and door repainted. Lawrence was so careful removing the weatherstripping and did such a thorough and thoughtful job. Watching him as he worked, I realized that he was the right guy for the right job. so knowledgeable and conscientious.
He made sure to explain everything he was doing and even showed me how to shoot my locks with lithium grease every six months to keep them in perfect working order. Eastway is lucky to have him and we're lucky he was our key guy.

Four places failed to cut my new mailbox key, but these guys knew exactly what the problem was - the postal service is using new blanks - and they had the updated versions on hand. After 2 weeks of searching, they were able to sort me out in 3 minutes. It doesn't get much better than that. But never mind their professional expertise: they were also very pleasant people. I had a little trouble finding the place, but they took pains to give me turn-by-turn directions until I was confident I could find it. Top notch.

I recently had to get some keys made, and I went to Eastway for the second time since I've moved into my house. These guys are consummate professionals. I enjoy being around anyone who is the master of a trade.locksmiths, tattoo artists, welders.anyone who is an expert in a field and who gets excited to talk about that field. The guys at Eastway are these kinds of locksmiths. If you have a question about your keys and locks or safes or anything related to these aspects of security, go ask.
