I am filing a complaint today about American alarm located in saginaw michigan. This company had sent me to collections for a amount that I did not owe them. When I first establish service with them I was told that this was a month by month. Meaning if I didn't pay for the service it would get cancel. This happen exactly when the lock down about COVID started.
At that time I stop paying them because I had lost my job in michigan due to the lock down. So I couldn't continue to pay for an alarm service. I told them many times I wanted to cancel. And they disregarded over phone communication. What ending up happening was they apparently send me to collection. And it wasn't even for the amount that I supposedly owed them.
Apparently They had the audacity of charging me a cancelation fee of $3000 dollars. None of this made any sense to me because they never mention anything about any contract. I originally paid for the Installation and my equipment in full. They should of never send me to collection for that amount or any amount. They should of just cancel the service and bill me for that month that I didn't pay. End of story. This is a huge scam!

My employer has an old Ace Security system installed which failed over the last week. It has failed before and repaired, but this time was last nail. We were told a representative would be in contact with us for a quote on upgrading our system. Its been days and we are still waiting. I read people have the same issue a year before I posted this review, it is a reoccuring problem with this business. Service guys are usually really nice and helpful. Sales team seems to be non-existent.

My client has an old system, probably from the 80s. One of the pads wasn't working, so she called for repair, telling them it's a very old system. The service man came to the house, said there was nothing he could do. When asked why they didn't just tell her that on the phone, he replied "I don't know." He said a sales person would be calling in a day or so to come provide an estimate for an update.
No call was received. A month later, she got a bill in the mail for a $95 service call. She asked me to call to ask why she has to pay almost one hundred dollars for nothing., so I did. I called, spoke with the service manager who seemed uncaring and rude. He said that's the rate for a service call, if we knew it was an old system, why would we call for service. He said to pay the bill and not to expect any more service. Done. I'm very disappointed to say that I'll never call or recommend them for anything, ever again.

I've been in my home for a little less than a year and have never had an alarm system before. This company is wonderful! I've had a few incidents where I have forgotten I have set the alarm and accidentally set it off. They are always quick to call within seconds to make sure everything is okay. The money spent is not only well under budget (basically free with the savings I receive from my homeowners' insurance) but most definitely well worth the peace of mind I get from knowing someone is always monitoring my home 24/7. I highly recommend these guys to anyone!
