DO NOT USE. PLEASE READ. The current date is April 26th at 3:41pm, 2021. The person who answers the phone (I am not allowed to use a name) never returned my request to fix my two (2) custom side gates after I texted her four times. If Scotland Entry Systems cannot be bothered to take care of paying customers, PLEASE go look at competitors. No one should be treated this way. Always check current YELP adds, date, time and affiliation. I am a concerned consumer.

After reading the negative reviews below, I believe the horrible way I'm being treated is just the way they do business. I've been using them for 6 years every time my gate acted up. I called last week for a simple fix and they charged me 180 dollars to simply move the reflector that recognizes the sensor to close the gate. That worked perfectly for many years so obviously that wasn't the issue.
The left a new hole in my iron fence that looks horrible, and now I can't get a call back to return and identify the real issue. I've call several times and wrote very nice emails asking for help. I got ZERO back. I strongly recommend finding another option as you will most likely experience the same issues. My gate won't close and not only is it a safety issue, it pretty frustrating to say the least. Thumbs down on this company as their terrible customer service

Our condo garage gate was inoperable recently. Options were to leave it propped open until it could be fixed in two weeks (did this once before and had vandals enter the garage and steal from unlocked cars) or pay for emergency after-hours service for $352. Scotland stated they were completely booked that day, would only come after hours if pre-charged on a credit card, which they were given. Subsequently, the technician came in advance of the "after hours" 4PM time.
Obviously they did have someone available, but insisted on charging the full after-hours emergency price of $352, even though the service was performed during regular working hours. Having the credit card number in advance, they were only interested in getting the larger amount. No amount of arguing was effective. Their service is sketchy at best. Without mentioning names, "L" in the service dept. was quite testy and yelling. Needless to say, Scotland did charge the full $352 to the credit card.

This company was recommended by a neighbor who recently got a new gate system installed. Called them up for more information and got all my options. Set up an appointment the next day and got a tech to check out my current system which was practically falling apart. I got some recommendations about repairs but decided to install a new system. Everything was done shortly after and I was up in running within days. Would recommend to anyone.

They no longer service the gate they installed more than a year old. The woman who answered the phone seems to reluctant to service / even sell new system (what if the gate system they installed is broken and we want to replace?). If they don't even service gates they are selling, who would want to even buy from them? Why do they even exist?

I don't know how companies like this one stays in business. They treated me as if they don't want to be bothered. I've been calling for 5 days. Either they don't answer the phone by way of a prerecorded message that they have no one available to take the call. I've left messages but they don't bother to return my calls. Ron K

They came out to give me a price on fixing my gate on December 13 and charged me $152 for the visit and the estimate. The problem is I have since followed up three times (January 10, 16, and 23rd) and cannot get them to even give me the estimate I paid for in advance. What a nightmare of an experience - I wish there were some way to get my money back.
Do not trust this company. They took my deposit and never even bothered to get me the written estimate they promised me which would have been deducted off the price of the work. Basically I threw away $152.

Our system has gone down now twice, everything locks and we can't get in or out! From the beginning this system and the company has been terrible! We were told we could have the secruity system we described. We trouble shot for several hours with the young man who came to give the estimate and we all agreed specifically on a walk-in gate we could easily lock or leave unlocked using our home phone.
They took the deposit and started the work and it became a series of "Oh, if you want that feature, it's more money." The price jacked up considerably and we never quite got the gate/lock system we expected. However we were ok with it until about 6 months later the phone locking system went down for the first time, taking our landlines with it.
We didn't have secirity or a landline telephone and they demanded a credit card number to come and fix it. Now, it's gone down again locking both the walking and car gate, trapping us inside our yard. Don't use this company!

Was a repeat customer but no more. I take Yelp very seriously when it comes to critiquing one's bread and butter. Had appt., no show, I called, was told guy called in sick, I said then call me, I rescheduled another day, no show, backed up because of sick guy, then call me! Guy shows hours later, tells me problem, I said I knew that, I said that on phone, I said I need it fixed, was told I need to make appt. and it would be a few days OR I could pay $350 emergency fee and he would do it that day. Tiffany in the office was great, elderly woman who handles schedule was nice but is full of excuses and does not return calls.
I am leaving out MANY details but don't want this to be a long review. Called another company, honest guy, way cheaper, fixed ASAP. I would have dropped this but to be told they are too busy but if I pay $350 then they could do it (technician said this) was just bad business.

Horrendous service in case of emergency. No one showed up. its midnight and cold and freezing. There's only one guy servicing in the entire Southern California at night. Do you want to install a gate that does not open at night and no one coming to open it for you? Think twice before calling this company. Just don't buy anything from this company.

I've watched this company go downhill over the last 5 yrs. I've been a long time customer but finally have to let them go. They rescheduled me a couple months ago. Then didn't show up on the day they rescheduled. When I called them to see where they were, they said they are down to ONE tech and he's stuck at another job. When I asked the phone person if I should just look for another company as this has happened too many times, she replied: "I would if I were you". Sigh. I thanked her for her honesty. The owner certainly doesn't care any longer. I'm looking forward to the new company that has a ton of 5 star reviews.

I have been a customer for years and while the technicians are knowledgeable, the owner never returned calls for estimates on new parts. And, they no-showed three times for confirmed appointments. BUT THEN, the owner saw that I posted this review and called me to THANK ME for providing important feedback so he can fix the problems in my gate AND assess what's broken in his business. NOW THAT IS PROGRESS! Kudos for compassion, kindness and willingness to connect! I updated to 4 stars because not everyone out there wants to sincerely make improvements and customer satisfaction but this company does. Worthwhile for EXCELLENT SERVICE.

This company was recommended by the manufacturer of our gate and it was a great recommendation. For months, our pedestrian gate wouldn't open remotely. I finally got around to calling and the next day John was over and not only fixed the gate, he adjusted the driveway gate to be more responsive and he recoded the phone remote, all within an hour or so. Very reasonable rates and fast friendly service -- what more can you ask for?
