Although identity theft costs the United States economy approximately 2 billion dollars every year, it is hardly given the attention it deserves. Most people believe that a simple telephone call to their credit card company can clear up the situation. It may take a little time but usually the credit card company will take the brunt of the losses while the victim pays nothing.
Paul Chamberlain founded PCI in 1981, after a distinguished nineteen-year career as a Special Agent of the FBI. As President of the firm, he directs all investigation, analysis and consultation services. Mr. Chamberlain began his FBI career in 1962 at the Bureau's Los Angeles office. After serving in San Antonio, Oklahoma City and Tulsa, he returned to Los Angeles where he was involved almost exclusively in the investigation of kidnappings, hijackings and extortions. He has worked on hundreds of kidnapping and extortion cases, as well as many major FBI investigations throughout the country.
At Paul Chamberlain International, we have been providing clients around the world with employee background investigations tailored to meet each client's interests and needs. It is essential that an employer is informed about individuals or entities that might be engaged in unethical and/or illicit activities whether in business enterprises or personal affairs.
Crisis Management Planning is critical in emergency situations such as kidnap for ransom, extortion, or other terrorist threats. PCI designs and implements Crisis Management Plans for corporations or individuals and their families, outlining the procedures to follow should a crisis occur. The results of an analysis of potential risks to a company, its employees, assets, reputation, and executives will inform and guide a company in implementing a custom tailored Crisis Management Plan. This plan will enhance overall safety awareness among employees, curb potential threats to assets and intellectual property, and provide a detailed framework for crisis response situations.
The threat of terrorism and the acts of violence associated with terrorism have never been greater. Incidents of extortion and kidnap for ransom have increased dramatically over the past few years. Corporate directors and officers, wealthy individuals and their families are primary targets. Local law enforcement agencies must put the needs of their communities first and may not be able to meet individual needs at the time of a crisis. They are precluded from offering certain advice to the victim, such as whether or not to pay ransom.
