We rebuilt our vacation home in Tahoe in 2010 and Anchor Alarm installed our security system, including smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. As most know there is a limited lifespan on these devices sometimes. For some reason Anchor Alarm does not take this into consideration and do regular maintenance based on typical lifespans. For the second time now in the last 11 years, I have a carbon monoxide detector that needs replacing.
It sets off a loud beep twice every hour, day and night. I have called twice and left messages to request service and have not even had a call back. I can understand and appreciate how busy everyone may be, but if you can't return phone calls for something a homeowner cannot disable, it is not a benefit to homeownership. With all of the devices available that can be self-installed and monitored by smartphones, who wants to rely on an unreliable service.
