Cothron's Safe and Lock simply ROCKS. Cothron's has been my go to locksmith in Austin for 40+ years - they have been rocking it since 1948 several locations across the metropolitan area. Myb need this time was a programming and keying a fob for my vehicle since my older once had bit the dust. Great professionalism/service and more than fair pricing. Simply put - Cothron's rocks.

After I posted a negative review Cothron's contacted me and made it right. They sent over someone who knew what to do and wore a mask in my house which is very important to me, especially with my 87 year old mother living with me. I think their policy of making the customer ask the technician is wrong because it puts the customer in a confrontational position at the outset, but you can demand that they wear a mask over the phone.

Just know that you have to do that. Also you have to be there when they arrive because even if you leave detailed instructions that doesn't mean the work will get done right. It's not enough to let your 87 year old mother let them in. Also they will not keep timed appointments so you just have to sit around from 10 to 5 waiting at home. So I still have very mixed feelings, but at least they came back and fixed the problem.

We recently had David H. service a door for our company and he did exceptional work. David was able to resolve an on going issue, and the work was completed in a timely and professional manner. I had a gate lock fall apart and was looking for a replacement handle and lock. I took the old mechanism to Cothron's on Burnet Rd. as I was up north for an appointment. When I showed the lock mechanism to the young man behind the counter (sorry no name tag that I could make out), he took it as a personal challenge to repair the old lock rather than provide a replacement.

I had tried unsuccessfully to repair it myself but with a better skillset and knowledge base (and possible better tools) he managed not only to get it repaired but he also burnished up the mechanism so it looked almost new. When I asked for the price, he said he was happy to fix it - no charge. Anyway, I've found a place for all my future lock and security needs.

Quite simply, superlative work from Don and the gang at Cothron's for a most challenging job I presented them with. Don made a key for me for an RV door by the masterly method of "impression". Relying on knowledge, skill and good natured patience, he performed magic before my eyes. SUPER customer service, super friendly staff, fantastic all around experience. HIGHLY recommend Cothron's for common dupes all the way to the most challenging of jobs - they are Pro's. Thanks Guys!

I cannot tell you the peace of mind that I had when Cothron's Security Professionals installed a key-less lock on the door. We change out the door to one of our apartments and as an upgrade wanted to install a key-less entry for our family members and guests. The 1st locksmith that we contact did not have the credentials or knowledge to help with this upgrade.

Their quoted price increased $125++ once they were on site. Tommy at Cothron's showed up on time in a fully equipped Cothron's Logo utility truck. Tommy was extremely COVID conscious, professionally dress, with a visible name tag! He came fully prepared with the knowledge and tools to complete the job. Their prices are highly competitive and did not fluctuate once they arrived. Tommy took detail notes of the apartment and the type of locks we have.

I will always ask for him for future services, such a pleasant young man! I have used many locksmiths in the Austin area but I am now a Cothron customer for life! Needless to say, they truly are their name, "Cothron's Security Professionals"!

There are a lot of locksmiths who are cheaper but they cut corners and do shoddly work. I've had work done by then and they are fast, very professional and reasonably priced. I would not hesitate to hire Cothrons again.

Excellent, speedy service. Polite and knowledgable locksmith. Got me back in my house in ten minutes and showed me how to food the problem if I ever ran into it in the future.

Round Rock location. If I could give zero stars I would. I brought a key fob in to be programmed for my truck. After 30 min of trying the guy said my battery was too dead and gave me till the end of the day to get it checked out. They charged me $60. Auto Zone confirmed my truck battery was perfect. Went back to Cothrons and they tried again for. another 30 min yet still could not program it.

I asked for my money back and he refused, wouldn't even program it again if I brought in a new key fob, said I would have to pay the amount again. Really? How do I know if its my fob or your faulty equipment!? Located another locksmith who was able to program my fob in 5 min. Cothrons is a scam and the guy who helped us is rude. I had to call my bank and file a dispute.

I had my front door lock replaced today by Cothrons Safe and Lock, Burnett Road and Tommy came as the service person. He did a wonderful job. Was a professional all the way. He tightened the hinge on my door, scrapped the lock hole in the wall to make the hole a little bigger because the lock was getting stuck. I was so delighted. I have used this Cothrons Safe and Lock Store for the last 3 years and they are A+ in everything they do. Every job this company does, they do well.

Ray saved us yesterday! We had to call the emergency/after hours Cothron's number because at 4:30 pm on a Saturday, my husband accidentally locked our dog, his phone, and his keys in an interior office in his office suite at his building at work. (Usually the door to that office is kept open, but. who knew that it would lock automatically?) Thankfully, Ray turned out to be nearby at another job which was longer and not an emergency.

After hearing about the trapped dog, he decided to come right over to help, and then go back to finish the other job. Our job turned out to be a little more complicated (the non-standard door/lock was even better security than imagined!) but before long, our dog was free to come home and Ray was off to finish his other job and rescue someone else.

It had been a stressful situation given that my husband didn't have his phone or keys, the dog was whining, and. getting toward evening on Halloween. It was a great relief that Ray ANSWERED the phone so that we didn't have to wonder if and when our message would be received and thus we didn't have to wait anxiously for a call back. Ray arrived (and stayed) masked and following safe practices.

He did answer other help calls that came in during the time he was helping us, and made a plan to help those customers in turn. We really appreciated the responsive and capable assistance yesterday!

Garrett is the man! He was able to assist me with my difficult roof rack lock and run the store with several other customers ALL BY HIMSELF! he is fantastic.

Fantastic locksmith. Gave us a fair quote to come out and get our front door opened. The locksmith wore a mask the whole time and safely distanced in our front yard when I had to show my ID and give card for payment. Very happy with these guys! I'll definitely recommend them to others.

Went in for key programming. 2 stores could not do it. first day programmer was out sick. 2 seperate employees at 2 different stores were smoking next to car with doors open. poor customer service. and they have problems programing new keys. im getting my money back. go to the Dealership for your car keys.

I came into the store to ask about different security options after my garage was broken into. After being told about different lock options, Brandie informed of a few ways to make my garage door more secure. She was very knowledgeable and helpful when determining what was going to work best to fit my security needs. I will return for more services in the future.

They're not the cheapest, but they are the most reputable company in town. They stand behind their work.
